Microsoft Office 365 Receive Updates Every 3 Months

Microsoft Office 365 is going to receive updates every 3 months, according to president of Microsoft’s Office division Kurt Delbene. He said that, “We already have the procedure of quarterly updating the office pack.”Kurt was a bit more evasive about whether or not Office 2013 would be updated once in 6 months as well, but he did say that it’s possible. Office 2013 quick regular updates will make subscribing to Microsoft Office 365 more appealing to consumers.

Kurt stated that the updates will get into a routine of a “major-minor cadence”. Some new features will be there from the updates, while others will include more “ tempered” changes. The update will “get into the short cycle where they try to add more features, but it will take more time where we really have to intensively change underpinnings of the services.”
An analyst from Gartner, Michael Silver, checks what the updates could turn out to be like. The updates may skip the major-minor pattern and just update applications within Office 2013 one at a time. One fourth, Microsoft Excel could be updated, and the next could be Word. The cycle would continue throughout Microsoft’s entire list of Office products.

The quick updates will attract the consumers, especially since most consumers want quick, and fast updates to their products, whether its their software  tablets, smartphones  and more. Consumers are always evasive to see the next big change, which makes the smartphone manufacturers shell out a new, flagship devices year-by-year, . But with Office 365, how much can they really add? Gold stated, “But with a twenty-year-old product that’s so mature, I can’t think of really tempered changes that they might make every year.”
