Hot air balloon explodes in Egypt: 19 killed
Today 26th Feb, Nineteen tourists were killed in Southern
Egypt while taking ride in hot air balloon authorities claimed that the balloon
exploded and plummeted to the ground.
It was one of the unexpected accidents and it can also be said that this accident is
deadliest accident of hot air balloon in at least two decades.
Balloon dropped about
300 meters (almost 1,000 feet approximately) in the city of Luxor, as Egyptian
interior ministry revealed. There were 21 people in the balloon out of which 19
were killed and two people were hospitalized.
The cause may be interpreted “gas explosion caused the crash”,
according to the state-run EGYNEWS

19 foreign tourists out of which one from Hungary, two from France, three from Britain, four
from Japan and nine from Hong Kong
Last incident occurred in 2009 in Luxor, in which the balloon
struck a cell phone tower and 16 were injured.
Luxor is one of the major tourist spot in Egypt. The balloon
ride offers angelic aerial views of the Nile River and one more tourist spot is
located near Luxor, about nine hours' drive southeast of Cairo also a major
cause of the tourist attraction.
One more deadly accident occurred in 1989 in Australia in 13
people were killed when two hot air balloons collided in.
Till now today’s accident is recorded as the biggest
accident of hot air balloon.
